BLUSENS GLOBAL CORPORATION

In April 2008 Blusens announced the constitution of Blusens Global Corporation, as a result of the merging of Blusens Technology and its subsidiaries Blusens Middle East and Blusens China, with the aim of immediately creating the new branch Blusens South America.

At the same time, Inveravante the corporation presided over by Manuel Jove Capellán, and Blusens formally agreed on the entry of the former into the latter company by means of an increase in the share capital of Blusens Global Corporation. By virtue of this operation, Inveravante acquired 47.5% of the capital, now that José Ramón García and Miguel Silva, co-founders of Blusens, have become the only shareholders, after having previously acquired the shares of the other minority partners. The final evaluation of the company, after the increase in capital, rose up to € 50 million. This new capital structure reinforces the company’s possibilities for guaranteeing the attainment of these objectives, whose principal measure is international expansion from 2008 on; a phase which Blusens shall undertake as a solid business and with the same management.

HISTORY

In 2002, Blusens started its business activity with a resolute, determined step into the consumer electronics sector, dominated by large multinational brands. Its ambitious objectives were already perfectly outlined in the 2002-2005 Strategic Plan. One that was painstakingly drafted with the aim of being different, innovative; of growing at an astounding rate, breathing new vitality into a sector that we felt was in need of change. Our ambition was to create a quality brand, from scratch, from Galicia but aimed at the whole world: a brand driven by excellence in all aspects of its operation – a brand with the ultimate goal of doing it better than the rest.

BLUSENS has easily surpassed the objectives of this Plan, and in terms of sales has become the leading manufacturer of MP3 players in Spain, with exponential growth rates of up to 200% per annum, and with no sign of slowing down. The Blusens range is based on high-technology products aimed at the consumer electronics sector – from MP3 players to LCD TVs, including DVD-DivX, PMP, portable DVD players, SatNav devices, communication products, etc. A risky commitment in a sector dominated by big players, but which in turn is in need of fresh ideas, as the success of our most innovative products has shown.

THE COMPANY

After 5 years of operation, Blusens products can now be found on the shelves of over 6,000 points of sale in the largest retail chains in Spain. During this period the company has become one of the principal points of reference in this sector in Spain. It has been astonishing to see how our customers have taken to our distinguishing elements: continuous innovation, value for money, guaranteed profitability, creative marketing and an immaculate after-sales service.

Blusens’ commitment to constantly improving the quality of its products and service to its customers is reflected in the creation of its own in-house Help Desk and Technical Support Centres in Santiago de Compostela. In these, all telephone enquiries from customers as well as repairs are carried out in order to offer Blusens customers a faster and improved service. The result is an outstanding service, which even goes as far as collecting the merchandise from the user’s home, repairing it and returning it, at no additional cost to the customer.

Blusens’ trajectory and management has been recognised with some of the most prestigious awards. José Ramón García, CEO of Blusens was awarded 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year by the Spanish Young Entrepreneurs’ Association, prize presented by HRH the Prince of Asturias, and was also awarded 2008 Emerging Entrepreneur by Ernst&Young, the prestigious professional firm.

INTERNATIONALIZATION

Blusens’ current internationalisation plan is not only based on a logical expansion in commercial terms, but also on the expansion of our own technological resources. To ensure the incorporation of the best sound and imaging technologies to our products, we have created strategic alliances with international companies such as Samsung Semiconductors, Casio, Toshiba, Blom, Sigmatel, and Nanoradio among others. As part of this internationalisation process we have set up subsidiary companies in strategic zones such as Dubai (Blusens Middle East), China (Blusens China) and Uruguay (Blusens South America). Likewise we are establishing agreements and alliances with official distributors in countries where, in this initial phase, we do not have any subsidiaries.

Blusens is also present in major International Trade Shows such as IFA, GITEX, SIMO or Hong Kong Trade Show and being member of the CEA, Blusens will also have direct presence in the 2009 CES Show in Las Vegas.

INNOVATION

Ongoing innovation is one of the pillars of Blusens’ success. And given that the advanced technology sector is currently dominated by multinational companies that act globally, innovation is vital to the present and future of Blusens. Our real great challenge for the 2007-2009 Strategic Planning Period is to transform Blusens into a global brand. In order to achieve this, innovation is one of the fundamental aspects of this Plan. To this end, we are currently allocating 10% of our annual turnover to R&D.

Blusens R&D plays an important role in Blusens’ strategic objectives, promoting our image and providing solutions to the innovative nature of the company.
