04.12.11 Blusens Launches Facial Recognition System
New system detects and segregates crowds by age and gender.
Tracking of eyes unveils myriad new applications in the advertising world.

Dubai, 30th. November, 2011. Blusens Networks, the Telecommunications Divisions of Blusens launches their Face Recognition system to add to their Digital Signage line. The solution will empower advertisers, media agents, content managers and retail operators with the tools to assess the number of impacts a certain campaign or ad produces, the age and gender groups, and the areas that attract most attention.
Initially the system comprises of stand-alone stations that will monitor one location and revert the information to a remote control point, but the evolution of the system is to be embedded in their IPTV set-top-boxes is around the corner. As of now, each station is capable of reverting information on the gender of the individuals passing by a location, their approximate age and how long the advertisement held their attention. The comprehensive use of the database also provides a variety of standard statistics as well as giving the possibility to get the raw data.

The specified accuracy is 95% on gender detection and 80% on age group segregation, which on statistical data and with the standard advertising market segregation gives a very accurate picture of the public at a location and time zone. This will allow them to maximize advert impacts by choosing the right ad for the predominant crowd through the Digital Signage system Blusens also provides.
With regards to the cost, Blusens understands that technology needs to be made affordable for business in order to penetrate the market, and that each property will require several monitoring stations in order to gather valuable and useful data, which is why both the initial investment and the upcoming upgrades will be contained and expected to beat industry standards.
